Florianopolis is called The Island of Magic. You an see witches and other characters on walls and outside restaurants.
We passed this muscian outside a coffee shop yesterday afternoon. The haunting sound of the wooden didgeridoo has always fascinated me. Perhaps it's because it's so old. Archaeologists have found paintings of the wind instrument on 1500 year old Australian rock art and cave paintings.
Its hard to find local coffee shops serving really good coffee. That because most Brazilian coffee is imported to wealthy countries that will pay well for it.
Folklore
The colourful window sculpture below is part of Boi de Mamão or Papaya Bull or Ox, a folkloric Santa Catarina drama involving a bull and other characters.
In the window of a Sambaqui craft store.
The lace maker is 82 and very sprightly. Florianopolis' bobbin lace making originated in Belgium.
